Boasting its own enclosed garden, it sits beside the owners' home on a working farm where visitors can explore the local footpaths and the surrounding glorious walking country, whilst just 1 mile away is the delightful Dales village of Wolsingham with its cafes, pubs and shops. Pony trekking is available in nearby Hamsterley Forest and a nostalgic steam train ride on the Weardale Railway offers an ideal way to enjoy the local landscape (in season). The historic city of Durham, only 17 miles away, is well worth visiting for its Norman castle, magnificent cathedral and river boat trips, whilst in happy contrast, cosmopolitan Newcastle for excellent shopping and fascinating architecture is a 24 mile drive. Beamish Living History Museum, Barnard Castle and Kilhope Lead Mining Centre are among the attractions close by, and Hadrian's Wall with its Roman forts and spectacular views of the Northumberland moors is within an hour's drive. Shops and pubs serving food 1 mile.

The farmhouse was absolutely fantastic, the accommodation was superb and the owners couldnt have been more helpful. We will definitely be booking again a very relaxing few days was had by us all and the children got to feed the lambs and were taken around the farm to see the animals, wonderful.
